Old Poem

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
I wish, I wish he’d go away...

When I came home last night at three

The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldn’t see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don’t you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don’t slam the door... (slam!)

Last night I saw upon the stair

A little man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
Oh, how I wish he’d go away

Zombies?

This image has been circulating the net recently.  It apparently is a glimpse of an obscure funeral ritual of the Toraja ethnic group within Indonesia.  The ritual apparently involves the use of "black magic" to allow the recently deceased to walk to their graves with the families.

There is not much further information available.  I have not been able to turn up any more information on such a ritual.  The image does seem to show a walking corpse, but that doesn't really prove anything.  Many are quick to dismiss it as a hoax, but it does seem to show some form of funeral ritual.

I would love to hear if anyone has any thoughts on this, or links to more information.  Inquiring minds need to know just what's going on!

Slenderman: The Movie

So there's a movie in production right now called "The Tall Man".  And it basically amounts to "Slenderman: The Movie".  The concept follows the original creepypasta pretty closely: a tall man kidnaps children.  It seems like it will more focus on the mother attempting to rescue the children, however.  Where does Slenderman take the little ones?

Still, the fact that something that was created in a contest for writing urban legends, enhanced via /x/, and then spun off into the amazing indie series that is "Marble Hornets" is now going to appear as an actual feature film is kind of amazing.

Spatial Distortion

I am currently staying in a house that has a few interesting spacial anomalies that creep up from time to time.  There is a small section of the house that often seems wider on the inside then on the outside.  Also, the door to the attic has a habit of disappearing or being hinged on the wrong side, but is always perfectly normal when actually inspected.

Without any real studies into the physical dimensions and properties of these areas, I can't make any real judgments as to what's exactly going on.  Optical illusions?  Some form of triggered hallucinations?  Actual spatial distortion?  It's unknown.

Trial and Error

Hello and welcome to this here blog thing.  It will be a collection of musings on the nature of reality, reports on the existence (or lack thereof) of creatures or devices that defy common reasoning, and a general journal chronicling my own attempts to experience something beyond the norm.  Discussion is free-for-all; I only ask that you come with an open mind and a willingness to accept that humanity is quite ignorant in regards to the fundamental workings of nature.

I will strive to update daily, but make no promises in this regard.  If you would like to hear my opinion on some subject or phenomena, feel free to ask and I will look into it.

Cheers.
